The installed capacity of regional new energy in the Southern Power Grid exceeded 100 million kilowatts

China''s largest installed capacity in the field of offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing optical storage and charging integration project phase I recently successfully connected to the grid in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, is expected to generate 7 million KWH of green electricity per year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions of 5,506 tons. The installed capacity of the first phase project is 6.5 MW, and the photovoltaic panel covers an area of 42,000 square meters.

As of the end of July, the total installed capacity of new energy in the operation area of the Southern Power Grid exceeded 100 million kilowatts for the first time, reaching 103.32 million kilowatts, accounting for 25% of the installed capacity. Among them, new energy has become the second largest power supply type in Guangxi and Yunnan Province (region). From January to July 2023, new energy generation in the southern region was 87.5 billion KWH, an increase of 37.4%, and the utilization rate of new energy exceeded 99.9%.

Since the beginning of this year, with the price of raw materials such as photovoltaic modules falling and the gradual rationalization of land and electricity price policies, new grid-connected installations of new energy in the southern region have begun to accelerate. Data show that in the first half of the year, Yunnan added 7 million kilowatts of new energy installed capacity, the total installed capacity of new energy exceeded 20 million kilowatts, and Guangxi scenery new energy installed capacity reached 19.48 million kilowatts, accounting for 29% of the total installed capacity of all types of power supplies in the region, becoming the second largest power supply type in the province (region).

On July 26, the maximum power load of the Southern Power Grid reached 234 million kilowatts, the fifth record high this year. On the same day, the daily output of seven pumped storage power stations in five southern provinces exceeded 50 million KWH for the first time. At present, the Southern Power Grid Company is speeding up the construction of pumped storage power stations, and four pumped storage power stations are under construction, with a total scale of 4.8 million kilowatts.

Wang Haohuai, manager of the power dispatching control center of the Southern Power Grid, said that in order to promote the high-quality development of new energy, the Southern Power Grid will give full play to the role of the power grid resource optimization platform, by strengthening the capacity construction of new energy "three can" (observable, measurable, controllable), accelerating the construction of regional power market and accelerating the new energy storage, pumping and storage and other regulatory capacity building means. Continue to improve the absorption capacity of new energy access in the large power grid, do a good job of "ensuring supply" and "ensuring consumption", and escort the realization of the "double carbon" goal and the construction of a new power system.

According to the plan, in the whole year of 2023, the five provinces and regions operated by the Southern Power Grid plan to put into operation 28.47 million kilowatts of new energy, an increase of 63% over the new scale in 2022.
